Sharing Our Learning
We are delighted that since 2009, our Small Worlds® workshops and weekly drop-in have inspired other initiatives across NI and beyond. Here are some examples:
Cafe del Mondo, Derry/L'derry (2010)
The Braid, Ballymena (2011)
Ground Cafe, Coleraine (2011)
The Globe, east Belfast (2013)
North Belfast Friendship Club (2016)
Blether Cafe, Glasgow (2017)
Building Communities Resource Centre, Coleraine (2020)
These developments confirm that our approach to building inclusion and fostering integration works.
Mentoring and consultancy
We are always willing to share our knowledge and our practical expertise of integration. Our founder, Stephanie Mitchell, has published ‘Be the change: a guide to creating safe and inclusive spaces’, which is designed to support other organisations on their journey towards inclusive practice. The guide distils Together’s approach into ten distinct steps, which we share in the spirit of sharing, unity, and continuous learning.
We also provide a consultancy service to individuals and groups embarking on this journey. This service is offered on a sliding scale basis; we won’t want ability to pay to be a barrier. Note that this is not consultancy in the regular sense: we don’t expect audits or management speak! Rather, it is an opportunity to explore how we might be the change we wish to see in the world.
